Guns And Writers™
Every Gun Is Not a Glock
Our most popular workshop, offered at three levels, is perfect for larger groups, conferences, or extended chapter programs or retreat.
Full-Day Program
Wonder what it feels like to aim a sniper rifle? Want to know how heavy an M-4 feels when it's pressed against your shoulder, or how much hand strength it takes to rack the slide on an HK handgun? You'll experience that, and much more. Arrive in flat shoes and jeans, and leave the workshop with your characters armed.
Includes the following:
*Expanded Gun Boot Camp with Identification skill-building and interactive exercises
*Learn to Speak Ammo-a special Gun Boot Camp subsection on understanding ammunition and why your detective won't find bullets on the floor.
*Expanded Mindset Shift-Touch it, feel it, try it. You'll know what you're looking at when you encounter a firearm. Hands-on exercises with weapons, and interactive audio visual presentations involve you in active learning you will take home and use.
*In-depth analysis of a film using weapons-What's correct and not correct, why it worked or why it didn't. Is this realistic or not?
*Guided Small-group weapons-handling experience-Participants break into groups and handle weapons from small-caliber revolvers to semi-auto handguns to suppressed military-style rifles, all while learning how a given character would use and think about the weapon in her hand.
*Full Packet of worksheets for figuring out your character's weapons style
*Templates for narrowing the weapons to one your character would choose
